Funky Forest is an interactive ecosystem where children create trees with their body and then divert the water flowing from the waterfall to the trees to keep them alive. The health of the trees contributes to the overall health of the forest and the types of creatures that inhabit it. We were invited by the Moomah Cafe to install a permanent version of Funky Forest in their Tribeca location in New York. Moomah is both a cafe and art center for children and their parents and we thought creating four seasons to match the seasonal cooking would be a nice addition to the Funky Forest experience. Since its installation in 2009, it has been wildly popular with the children who come to the cafe and NYMag praised it heavily when writing their glowing review of Moomah in their article on '100 Best of Playspaces' in New York.
